As part of my series of articles on Byron Bay, I’m going to share with you my favorite “melbourne style” coffee shop we discovered just beyond the bustle of the main shopping strip. When you first walk past its outdoor seating and see the fashionable types sitting underneath the well designed sign, you can tell that it is a good coffee shop. The next day my travelling companions and I went back, and we discovered that it really is a good coffee shop. With everything from V60 pour overs, to weekly imported beans, to even the best iced mocha I've ever tasted, they really have all sorts of coffee drinkers. My travelling companions both ordered pour overs with their choice of single origin beans, so when I ordered an iced mocha of course the waitress laughed!
We went back a second time to be greeted like we were regulars - “welcome back guys!”, exclaimed most of the staff we had seen the day before. This time, when we ordered food we really had no idea where to start. The menu is amazing, like everything you could ever want here on this menu. Alas, 3 Dukkah eggs were ordered, which made for a great instagram picture. Served on cool wooden platters, you wouldn't be surprised if you walked out at the end of your meal and ended up on Chapel Street itself! Awesome artworks by local artists reminds you that you are in the hot spot for Byron’s brunchers.
