As the name suggests, At The Heads is located overlooking the river of Barwon Heads.
A couple of minutes walk around the corner from the main street will take you to this more upmarket and pricey restaurant. But it's worth it because the service is fast and the view is insta worthy.
The waiters themselves aren't entirety friendly, but they're they're go get the job done.
The menu is double the price of other restaurants in the area such as "Beach house", with mains upwards of $30,but it's worth it because it's locally sourced, good quality goodness.
We shared the big seafood platter and were both very satisfied after. The oysters were deliciously salty (just the way I like them) and the small portion of pesto went surprisingly well with the big prawns.
The demographic of the area is mostly retirees, so it's hard to find a "cool" cafe marketed for young people. Although they do serve lots of things on wooden platters- that's cool, right?
