Located around the corner from the popular Dendy Street Brighton shopping strip sits Royale Brothers.
Recently named in the top 100 burgers of Melbourne and owned by the same group as it's neighbour "The Pantry", it is equally as popular.
But does it earn this popularity?
Not in my opinion!
The many many times I have visited the esteemed burger joint I've had the worst service ever! The girls taking your order are too busy flirting with the boys in the back to actually listen to you properly!
Not only is the service slow and sloppy, but the burgers are also super sloppy!!
They overdo the mayonnaise and their "royale" sauce, so much so that you don't taste their yummy patties.
The fish burger is my burger of choice and they do it quite well, just ask for a bit less Mayo in the coleslaw and you'll enjoy it.
After an hours starving wait anything tastes amazing, so perhaps they make you wait for their overpriced burgers ($13 for the basic royale with cheese) so that you think it's good!
Once I went there and just wanted two takeaway milkshakes, and here they have a futuristic milkshake machine. But it still took them 20 minutes to press the button!
Take your chances if you think it's worth it or not. And let me know how you go! Would you rate it the high profile of the best burgers in Melbourne?
