Here is a list of reasons why I don't like pizza, in no particular order : 1: everyone else loves pizza. Pizza is too mainstream. You know that when everyone loves it there must be some flaw that people overlook to be able to seem cool 2: how are you supposed to eat it? Every time I eat pizza, whether from a cheap take away place or from a fancy Italian restaurant, the toppings always, always fall off. Fold it in half? Take straight bites out of it? Knife and fork? Nothing works for me 3: it's so inconsistent. You might find an incredible place that you swear you will have a monogamous relationship with until bam one day, you get given a soggy based, Luke warm sad excuse for 'pizza'. 4: it's addictive. I acknowledge that. But that makes it hard to stop eating = you over eat = you feel bad about yourself. These feelings of self loathing probably contribute to my distaste of pizza 5: it's overpriced. No I don't want to pay $9 for a slice of pizza when I could get an entire family size from across the road for the same price (if not cheaper). Only in New York is it acceptable to sell pizza by the slice, just because. What are your thoughts on pizza? Leave your opinion in the comments! Xoxo E

As part of my series of articles on Byron Bay, I’m going to share with you my favorite “melbourne style” coffee shop we discovered just beyond the bustle of the main shopping strip. When you first walk past its outdoor seating and see the fashionable types sitting underneath the well designed sign, you can tell that it is a good coffee shop. The next day my travelling companions and I went back, and we discovered that it really is a good coffee shop. With everything from V60 pour overs, to weekly imported beans, to even the best iced mocha I've ever tasted, they really have all sorts of coffee drinkers. My travelling companions both ordered pour overs with their choice of single origin beans, so when I ordered an iced mocha of course the waitress laughed! We went back a second time to be greeted like we were regulars - “welcome back guys!”, exclaimed most of the staff we had seen the day before. This time, when we ordered food we really had no idea where to start. The menu is amazing, like everything you could ever want here on this menu. Alas, 3 Dukkah eggs were ordered, which made for a great instagram picture. Served on cool wooden platters, you wouldn't be surprised if you walked out at the end of your meal and ended up on Chapel Street itself! Awesome artworks by local artists reminds you that you are in the hot spot for Byron’s brunchers. E’s rating: 10/10 |
